USA report

I’ve been climbing for almost 15 years now, when I started, I had no idea of the amazing places that this sport would lead me to, nor the experiences that I would live.
Sometimes we do not value it and the only thing that matters is to clip an anchor or stand-up on top of a boulder problem, we forget how fortunate we are to have a passion and way of living, that make us look at the world with a different perspective.

In the last months, nearly two years, while I was trying to make the first ascent of Peixe Porco in Sagres, I completely lost this feeling, of traveling, sharing, discovering new places and meeingt new people, telling and listening to stories, the feeling of being part of a big family, which is climbing.

I climbed on almost all continents, I have visited many different countries, and since the beginning, the USA has always been in my head as a crucial destination, it’s an unavoidable country in the climbing history and for sure every climber has the desire to climb in this great land!

Maybe it was the immensity and beauty of the landscape, perhaps the fact that I have been long focused on a goal, but for the first time in a long time, I feel that sending hard is secondary, I want to get to the top of the wall and look to the horizon, want to touch the red sandstone, look for colorful cactus in the desert, listening to climbers’ stories, feel the little things that make this “sport” so BIG… At the end it's what climbing is all about.
